I’m old enough to drive a car, buy alcohol, and enter a club.

I’m old enough to take responsibility for my actions.

I’m old enough for her.

No matter what her middle-aged friends or society says.

No matter she’s the age of my mother.

No matter why or how I met her.

I’ll take those secrets to my grave.

And her with them.

If those secrets don’t ruin us first.

Review

¡Santo cielo! Charmaine Pauls has literally ruined me beyond repair with this book. Old Enough is FORBIDDEN and deliciously HOT. It blew my dirty mind far away leaving me breathless and eager for more. This book is within the line between what is good and what is bad. It is pure and sinful and so taboo! From the first page, I suspected I was going to lose my mind over this book. Charmaine’s writing is darkly smart, elegantly addictive and flawless. There is not greatest pleasure than reading her books because they have the power to leave you panting and wanting more.

Love has many shapes and colours that nothing can take away its purity. It doesn’t distinguish by skin colour, sex or age. Love is a unique. It is the one thing that differentiates us from animals (although sometimes some animals show their love better than a human being). Old enough is a rough journey of wild feelings and hot attraction between two souls who are in different stages in life.

Brian and Jane’s story is sizzling scandalous, vicious, and perversely dirty. The age difference between them is improper according to society standards. She is older than him and being together is a dangerous game with capital letters. Brian will slowly seduce her and tempt her until she becomes his. Because form the first time he laid his eyes on her, she was his. Their meeting was wickedly arranged by a strange man in a suit although fate sealed their future.

This book sparks with sexual tension. It pours decadent passion. Old Enough set my body and soul on fire. It is delicious and all-consuming. I was possessed. This story is raw as it is thrilling, as fitting as it is forbidden! In one word: it is PERFECT.

Charmaine pulls you into the story with a BREATHLESS INTENSITY where you can't stop devouring her words until the last page. Sharp, twisty complex and blisteringly witty. She penned a story that will leave you aching for more…

This time I won't say the typical “I highly recommend you this book”... No. I DARE YOU TO READ IT because it is worth all the stars in the galaxy! I can't wait to read the conclusion of this duet. I am sure it will be EPIC.

Note to the author: I wonder where I can find my own Brian… because he is hot AF. He is temptation personified. He is the WHOLE PACKAGE ladies! His personality lit my body and oh I did fall for him… so hard and fast. And I still am falling. Thanks Charmaine for creating the ultimate book boyfriend that has ruined me in the best way possible.

Rating

Five tantalizing stars! This book will set your body, heart and soul on fire.

Excerpt

Tapping his fingers together, he doesn’t break our stare. He continues to delve deep into my eyes for four more heartbeats, and then he says, “I’m leaving you.”

The words come out of nowhere and everywhere. They’re wrong, because he’d never do that to me. He promised. Our start wasn’t easy, but I’ve tried my damnedest to be the good wife for him, the wife he wanted. We have Abby. He won’t do this to his daughter.

“I wanted to tell you before,” he says, “but the right opportunity was never there.”

Lowering my voice, I motion at the full restaurant. “This is?” A shutter drops in his regard, and his demeanor turns distant, inaccessible. “I thought it best to move as soon as possible. I don’t want a drawn-out drama.”

I can’t process what’s happening. There were no warning signs, except for his recent withdrawal, but he always pulls into himself when work gets stressful.

“I’ll be out by tomorrow,” he continues. “Why?” My question has nothing to do with him moving out tomorrow.

He doesn’t hesitate in his answer. “Debbie.”

I only know one Debbie. “From your office?”

“She resigned.” He adds,

“Obviously.” As if that’s a consolation.

“How did this happen?”

“We fell in love.” Tears prick at the back of my eyes, but I blink them away, not wanting witnesses for my pain and humiliation. “How long?”

He gets that closed-off look again. “It’s not important.” “The hell it is.” “Jane.” His tone is chastising. “Your language, please.” “Can we talk about this at home?” “There’s no point. My mind’s made up.” “Yes, there is a point. There are things to be said, explained. If you’re so certain of your decision as you say you are–”
