Hypnotizing, captivating, dark, intriguing and addictive.
I have no words for this book. Truly. I don't remember when was the last time I sat down and read the whole book in one sitting.
The synopsis just sucked me in and from reading the very first paragraph I knew my choice to delve into this novel was a good one.
This is my first time reading a Charmaine Pauls book and Holy F*ck this book, it was loaded with feels. I had to sit back and really take in these characters once I was done.
My mind is still at war with itself, because, of all the things I’d braced myself for, that did not cross my mind. What an incredible read! This went beyond anything I thought it would be, I was not prepared to be so captivated by Damian and Lina.
I’ve been charmed by every facet of this author’s writing.
This book took me places I wasn’t expecting it and I ended up loving the direction it took.
It is so intense!! The story of Lina and Damian is different and captivating!!
Evocative and unpredictable, Beauty in the Broken crossed many lines, but written in the flawless and gripping.
Charmaine has blown my mind with this wickedly dark, but utterly captivating story. The writing is perfection. I loved the emotion and depth to the writing.
I was beyond impressed and completely enthralled. I loved it immensely. That ends on quite the twist. Another one for the favorites shelf! <3

Charmaine Pauls was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of Potchestroom, and followed a diverse career path in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, photography, graphic design, and brand marketing. Her writing has always been an integral part of her professions. After relocating to Chile with her French husband, she fulfilled her passion to write creatively full-time. Charmaine has published nine novels since 2011, as well as several short stories and articles. Two of her shorts have been selected by the International Literary Society for an anthology from across the African continent. When she is not writing, she likes to travel, read, and rescue cats. Charmaine currently lives in France with her husband and children. Their household is a linguistic mélange of Afrikaans, English, French and Spanish.
